The DiscussionsUserPage component shows a discussion list inside of a user page.

    Hierarchy (View Summary)

    Index

The attributes passed into the component.

    bodyClass: string = ''

A class name to apply to the body while the route is active.

    element: Element

The root DOM element for the component.

    scrollTopOnCreate: boolean = true

Whether we should scroll to the top of the page when its rendered.

Class component state that is persisted between redraws.

Updating this will not automatically trigger a redraw, unlike other frameworks.

This is different to Vnode state, which is always an instance of your class component.

    This is undefined by default.

    useBrowserScrollRestoration: boolean = true

Whether the browser should restore scroll state on refreshes.

user: User | null = null

The user this page is for.

    • Returns a jQuery object for this component's element. If you pass in a selector string, this method will return a jQuery object, using the current element as its buffer.

For example, calling component.$('li') will return a jQuery object containing all of the li elements inside the DOM element of this component.

      Parameters

      • Optionalselector: string

        a jQuery-compatible selector string

      Returns JQuery

the jQuery object for the DOM node

    • Given a username, load the user's profile from the store, or make a request if we don't have it yet. Then initialize the profile page with that user.

A user in the store is shown straight away, but the record may have arrived in another endpoint's payload, carrying only the relationships that endpoint included. Every user has joinTime whichever endpoint it came from, so that says nothing about what else is loaded: whatever the user endpoint includes by default, which is anything an extension adds to a profile, can be missing. So such a user is fetched in the background, once, and the response updates the same record the page is showing.

Resolves once this.user is set so that subclasses can safely chain dependent work (e.g. fetching related resources keyed off the user id). It does not wait for that background fetch.

      Parameters

      • username: string

      Returns Promise<void>
